It starts out as good fun--a simple wager between friends. But when someone close to them ends up dead, Harris and Matthew realize the game is far more sinister than they ever imagined--and that they're about to be the game's next victims. On the run, they turn to the only person they can trust: a 16-year-old Senate page who can move around the Capitol undetected. As a ruthless killer creeps closer, this idealistic page not only holds the key to saving their lives, but is also determined to redeem them in the process. Come play The Zero Game--you can bet your life on it.

Read this on an airplane...better than nothing to read at all. I love books set in DC. It gets the geography down pat (especially inside the Capitol), but I found the story lacking. But, good pulp read.

A very complex plot that hooks you from the beginning and keeps your attention till the end. Fast paced and exciting, with little Capital Hill tidbits thrown in. Good read!

Very interesting tale. Premise is somewhat questionable but extremely well developed. Would make a good movie.

Totally absorbing account of the (fictional) games played in Washington, DC. Enjoyable and unexpected read for the concept and resultant twists and turns in plot.

Matthew Mercer and Harris Sandler play a secret game that has risk, reward and the thrill of knowing that just by being invited to play, you are a true insider. The game will shake up Washington to its core when everything turns deadly.

From the back of the book:
Matthew Mercer and Harris Sandler are playing a game almost no one knows about -- not their firends, not their coworkers, and certainly not their powerful bosses, who are some of of the most influential senators and congressmen on Capitol Hill. It's a game that has everything: risk, reward, and the thrill of knowing that -- just by being invited to play -- you've become a true insider. But behind this game is a secret so explosive it will shake Washington to its core. And when one player turns up dead, a dedicated young staffer will find himself relying on a tough, idealistic seventeen-year-old senate page to help keep him alive... as he plays the Zero Game to its heart-pounding end.
