The memorable story begun in When the Wind Blows continues in this thrilling new novel, and it's one that really soars! Frannie O'Neil, a Colorado veterinarian, knows a terrible secret that will change the history of the world. Kit Harrison, an FBI agent under suspension has seen things that no one in his right mind would believe. A twelve-year-old girl named Max and five other incredible children have powers we can only dream of. These children can fly. And the only place they will be safe is the Lake House. Or so they believe...
I enjoyed the content of this book as much as the first one...the "evolution" of the childrens' growth was pretty amazing. The villain couldn't be more menevolent...he has no redeeming qualities. Perhaps the ending was in line with the story but seemed a bit over the top.The story is very imaginative.
Patterson said that these books are his most popular in the world...don't see how. His Murder Club and Alex Cross books are much superior. He remains one of my favorite authors.

a good sequel to when the wind blows. but not as exciting as the first. max and the kids they are safe from the bad guys, but they thought wrong. this time it's not the school, but the hospital. the ending will make you smile with tears of saddness in your eyes.

I am not typically a fan of supernatural books...but this was a very memorable story children that can fly, and their travels to a place they think they can be safe: The Lake House. The ending was wonderful.
