Book Description:
YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM

Terror has forever changed the life of psychiatrist Tess Ciccotelli. Someone is tormenting her patients, pushing them to commit suicide, and setting her up to take the blame. But Tess can't break her oath to protect her patients' privacy at all costs. Even when detective Aidan Reagan demands a list of everyone she's treating. Even when the mounting danger threatens Tess herself.

YOU CAN'T STOP WHAT I'M DOING

Aidan doesn't like anyone who stalls his cases. Still, he can't help but admire Tess's fierce loyalty to her patients, especially when it becomes clear that a nameless, faceless enemy is set on destroying her career, her family, and finally, Tess herself. As Aidan's heart softens, the killer's will hardens, and one thing becomes clear -- the noose is tightening around Tess's neck.

This one is yet another winner from Ms Rose.... I'll admit to being a little wary about starting this one as I find the plot device of doctor-patient privileges to stall investigations trite, or overused, but Ms rose has the ability to tell her story in unique and well thought out ways so much so that stories you might have heard hundreds of times before, sound new and exciting coming from her! Her writing is both potent as well as addicting, and you'll have a hard time putting this one down despite all those pesky distractions otherwise known as real life, that will try to get in your way!

She has strong characters, who are competent, intelligent, and real as well as hardworking and strong willed. They are described so well and brought to life so much so, that you can't help but not only like the Hero and heroine and their families and friends, but you care about what happens to them all as well!

And I love the interconnecting of her characters from past (and probably future) books! It's a nice visit down memory lane for some, and others it's nice to think about where Ms Rose will take them!

As for the suspense, it was on par with Ms. Rose's previous writing as well:-) It had a good build up and keeps you in high tension, nail biting agony as you wait for all the pieces to fall into place, and figure out what's going on, why, and who the heck that big bad is (I was totally surprised to find out who it was! talk about coming out of left field)! But I think my personal favorite bit was that the end of the suspense didn't automatically end the book. We definitely get some oft neglected closure!

And the romance was lovely... though yes, H and h didn't know each other for long (though they do know Of each other), as the story moves forward, you sort of forget that particular fact... and I loved that they didn't immediately get along! As we get both the hero and heroine's point of view we can see how they came to gradually know (and love) each other...

Karen Rose, at least in my not-so-humble and usually right opinion, has earned the title of Queen of Romantic Suspense... and I'll definitely be buying (and most likely keeping) all her titles:-)

Very good murder mystery, didn't know who did it and it was a fun romance.

This book will please suspense and romance reasers. Karen Rose weaves a pretty complex murder case that you can't put down ...add some good old romance to the mix and you have a winner. Some might say it is not her best when it comes to writting style and flow but it is undeniably a good read.

Good book but....

I just felt like there was too much going on. It did keep me guessing who the killer was until the end. I just couldn't believe the amount of kills and how long it took them to solve it--or maybe because it was such a long book. I felt like it dragged out for me. I didn't really feel the chemistry between the two characters. Well-written though.

Detective Aidan Reagen is first on scene of what seems to be a suicide. Dr. Tess Ciccotelli receives a phone call in the middle of the night telling her that her patient is about to jump off her balcony. She arrives too late, not knowing that her patient was already dead when she got the call.

Aidan feels contempt, if not hatred for Tess's roll in the trial of a child/police killer. As the person that discovered the body of the 3rd child found, Aidan wanted to see justice for the families of the victims. Instead, Tess declared the defendant incompetent, which sealed her fate as far as the Police Department was concerned. That she seems so cool and unaffected while standing over her dead patient doesn't surprise Aidan in the least.

When another, then yet another patient dies, all the evidence points to Tess as the one who is pushing them to commit suicide. Tess adamantly declares her innocence and is willing to work along side a detective that obviously loathes her.

As Aidan and Tess work together to uncover who hates Tess enough to plan something so heinous, they both realize how wrong they are about each other. Aidan realizes that the calm Tess projects is a facade. He also learns that she is extremely loyal to her patients, even thought she knowingly treats criminals. Tess sees that there is more to Aidan than meets the eye. It is Aidan's belief in her that helps her deal with everything she knows is to come.

The secondary characters make this book even better. A lot of the characters are ones we've met in previous books. Although the book is over 500 pages, it never drags. This is a definite Rose winner. Don't miss it!
