The Dollmaker was the name of the serial killer who had stalked Los Angeles ruthlessly, leaving grisly calling cards on the faces of his female victims. Now with a single faultless shot, Detective Harry Bosch thinks he has ended the city's nightmare. But the dead man's widow is suing Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man -- an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature.
So, for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go -- the darkness of his own heart. With The Concrete Blonde, Edgar Award-winning author Michael Connelly has hit a whole new level in his career, creating a breathtaking thriller that thrusts you into a blistering courtroom battle -- and a desperate search for a sadistic killer.

Another great one from Michael Connelly. In fact, one of the best of his that I've read. If you are from the L.A. area you will especially enjoy following Harry Bosch all around town and picturing it in your minds eye. The fact that I frequently drive to work right past one of the murder scenes depicted in the book kind of tickles me, I must admit. Even if you aren't familiar with L.A., the mystery will really grab you. It's really a modern day noir thriller.

If you love Harry Bosch, you love this one. He is about to be discredited again, but discovers a new twist on a 4-year-old case that redeems him. As usual, in his private life, Harry means to open up and have a "real" relationship, but his job leaves him little time to tend to such matters.
It's another good read from Connelly -- suspenseful and multi-layered.

This cop/serial killer story was gripping from the beginning...hard to put down...picked it up every chance I had, even if I could only read a few pages. Recommend.
