From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks comes an unforgettable love story that explores the deepest mysteries of all-those of the heart. As a science journalist with a regular column in Scientific American, Jeremy Marsh specializes in debunking the supernatural. A born skeptic, he travels to the small town of Boone Creek, North Carolina determined to find the real cause behind the ghostly apparitions that appear in the town cemetary. What he doesn't plan on, however, is meeting and falling hopelessly in love with Lexie Darnell, granddaughter of the town psychic. Now, if the young lovers are to have any kind of future at all, Jeremy must make a difficult choice: return to the life he knows, or do something he's never done before-take a giant leap of faith. But his choice is only the beginning, for their story takes the most unlikely twist of all, one that will finally make Jeremy a TRUE BELIEVER.

I really enjoyed this book. I only read it so that I would have the background for "At First Sight," which was also excellent. It's a must read for the background, but it's also enjoyable. What I didn't particularly enjoy was the supernatural element.

A Scientific American investigative journalist can't believe what he finds in a small coastal town of NC. Mysterious lights appear out of nowhere which are so hard to explain for the locals. But this man works with the help of the town librarian to figure this out.

Nicholas Sparks has written another wonderful love story. This novel takes place in a small town along the coast of North Carolina. As is his style, he entwines a wonderful, old-fashioned love story with a little suspense to make you want to read this book in one sitting.

Jeremy Marsh is a born skeptic and a science journalist who specializes in debunking the supernatural. When he hears about ghostly apparitions in a cemetary in Boone Creek, North Carolina, he leaves his beloved New York City for this small, rural town - and what his instincts tell him could make a great story. What he doesn't plan on is meeting and falling hopelessly in love with Lexie Darnell, who is sure of one thing, her future is here in Boone Creek, close to the people she loves. Now, if the young lovers are to be together, Jeremy must make a difficult choice. Return to the life he knows in New York, or do something he could never do before...take a giant leap of faith.
For Nicholas Sparks fans, this one is another winner.

This is a really good old fashioned love story with just a hint of a twist of a bit of the supernatural thrown in!
