Book Description:
IT'S PARTY TIME FOR A KILLER Suburban sleuth Christine Bennett is moved and intrigued by two poignant mementos treasured by her late Aunt May. The first is a sad little note mourning the death of a young man lost in a Connecticut wood; the other, an obituary honoring a wealthy local manufacturer who committed suicide just after his splendid fiftieth birthday celebration. Why did her aunt never mention these virtually simultaneous tragedies? Chris's investigative instincts are irresistibly whetted-especially by the bizarre discovery that the victims, though strangers, were found wearing each other's sneakers. And as she slices through the layers of the past, she uncovers the horrible truth that murder was just the icing on the cake. . . .

Christine Bennett is an interesting detective. Based on the suburbs and a departed aunt, this is quite an interesting book. Nice winding up with a lot of details.

Very likable characters with good back-stories. My only problem, now that I have read 4 or 5 from the series, is that the culpret sometimes seems pulled from the magician's hat. Even if I can't solve the mystery before the last page, I like to be able to look back and trace the clues I missed. This author pulls out murderers who have never even been alluded to previously. Still I continue to read the series because I do like the characters.

I really enjoy this series. The stories keep getting better & better. This one is particularly interesting, as it involves two murders. I really like the relationship Christine has with her friends and how they give their input into each case she tries to solve.
