Book Description:
When forensic anthropologist Elizabeth MacPherson becomes the official P.I. for her brother Bill's fledgling Virginia law firm, she quickly takes on two complex cases.  Eleanor Royden, a perfect lawyer's wife for twenty years, has shot her ex-husband and his wife in cold blood. And Donna Jean Morgan is implicated in the death of her Bible-thumping bigamist husband.

Bill's feminist firebrand partner, A. P. Hill, does her damnedest for Eleanor, an abused wife in denial, and Bill gallantly defends Donna Jean. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's forensic expertise, including her special knowledge of poisons, gives her the most challenging case of her career. . . .

A great laugh out loud mystery by Sharyn McCrumb. This book has one of the best lines in it that I have ever read, I laughed so hard when I read it(the 2nd time, because it almost got by me because I read her books so fast), that I actually wrote it down. I'll give you a hint... The First Assembly of God Church... It's funny without being crass, not a lot of guts, gore, or sex, just an enjoyable quick read. I like this whole series featuring Elizabeth McPherson and her wacky relatives :)

I like this book because of it's little elements of humor.

How can you not love the title of this one? While I did enjoy it, I am still not totally "on board" with Elizabeth MacPherson. Hopefully she will grow on me. Still a good read.

It is a well written book that provides an accurate potrayal of the south and all it entails.

I love Sharon McCrumb and this is one of her better ones. Her books on life in rural Appalachia do not have to be read in order so pick one up.

Great book! really three different stories in one, all about women who murder (or do they?) their husbands...for good reasons! enjoy.

Sharyn McCrumb has a way of writing that draws you into every one of her stories. She weaves a modern day tale in with one from the past and has you laughing and crying at the same time. This story involves two young lawyers, one with a client on trial for murder and the other who seems to get the clients who have a screw or two loose. While these tales are being told, the reader also learns of a case of apparent poisoning that took place many years prior the the present day cases but ends up being tied in. Enter Elizabeth McPhearson, forensic anthropologist and sister of the male lawyer, who while trying to deal with a missing-at-sea husband also is called upon to help solve one of the cases. A seemingly complicated tale that all comes delightfully together in the end.

The best title ever given a mystery book! What woman could resist it? Haven't we all known people that it applied to?

Murder mystery by Sharon McCrumb has forensic anthropologist Elizabeth MacPherson acting as PI for her brother's law firm. Funny characters and outrageously funny plot!
