The Blackstone Chronicles are short novels. Each novel in the series revolves around an object with a connection to the old Blackstone Insane Asylum. People in the town receive these items and horror and mayhem follow. I am a fan of John Saul horror novels, and these are good as well.

Very Scary short story. I was glued to the book...

excellent short story books

This is the first book in 'The Blackstone Chronicles,' serial terror in 6 parts. The old Blackstone Asylum demolition project has been delayed due to financing problems. Evil lurks in the Asylum, where a dark figure with a gloved hand picks out perfect gifts from his secret trove of treasures for the community. Bill McGuire, the contractor for the demolition project, and his family are the unlucky first recipients of a perfect gift, a doll with a murderous menace that Bill's daughter Megan has named Sam. Sam makes Megan do terrible things and Bill's wife Elizabeth, who is expecting their second child, is in danger. Is the spirit of a boy who believes he is a girl trapped within the doll? Dolls have always freaked me out, something about the eyes, creepy! I look forward to reading the second book in this series. Who will receive the next gift and what will happen to them?

One of the best series I've ever read. So scary!!! Very quick reads

First of a 6 part serial book (sort of like Stephen King's "The Green Mile"). My 13 Y/O daughter devoured the entire set in 2 days this past summer, and loved it.

I have 1, 5, & 6 right now. If I can find the other 3 in my daughter's room (probable, but far from certain), I will ship them all as one book (for 1 credit). In the mean time, I am listing the three that I have separately in case someone needs to fill in a gap.

The whole series kept you on your toes, wondering who the mystery person was, and why they were leaving "gifts" to specific town residents.
