Alice is investigating a murder of one of her acting students. Bruce seems to be in love with her. He gives her a beautiful white Abyssinian-like cat. Then Bruce gets murdered in what appears to be a drug deal gone wrong, and the cat is stolen from Alice. Alice finds Bruce's girlfriend Risa and starts asking questions about Bruce's life. Bruce is the grandson of a famous theatre star, but he hated her and all of her friends. Alice is led on a wild goose chase, where she starts following three old men who turn out to have all of the answers. I always enjoy reading her books because it is hard to figure out what is going to happen in the end. She always keeps you guessing.
