When Dr. Alan Gregory's good frined Peter Arvin is found dying on the stage of a Colorado theater, suspicion soars that he is the second victim of a serial killer. Now the police want Alan to create a psychological profile of the murderer. Peter's widow wants to know her husband's secrets. And Alan is deperate to know who killed his friend---and why. Did the guilty party have a sick taste for show biz? Was the murderer inspired by greed or by vengeance? Or by forbidden sex?

It's set in Boulder and the surrounding area and I liked reading about where I live. It's a mystery with Dr. Alan Gregory as a friend of the murder victim. Keeps you guessing till the end as to the idenity of the killer or killers.
Alan's good friend Peter is murdeed by what could be a serial killer. The police want Alan to creat a psychological profile of the murderer. Peter's wife is asking Alan to try to discover her husband's secrets. Alan is working with the police to track a killer; he thought he knew his late friend, but what he discovers could kill him.

Another very good one from Stephen White, this one told from Alan Gregory's point of view. The death of a close friend leads Dr. Gregory to delve into the world of profiling and forensic psychology, a role I hope he'll continue to develop as the series rolls on. I'm looking forward to the next one.
