Eight vulnerable girls and their helpless teachers are forced off a school bus and held hostage. The madman who has them at gunpoint has a simple plan: one hostage an hour will die unless the demands are met. Called to the scene is Arthur Potter, the FBI's best hostage negotiator. He has a plan. But so does one of the hostages-a beautiful teacher who's willing to do anything to save the lives of her students. Now, the clock is ticking as a chilling game of cat and mouse begins.

Although I love the Lincoln Rhyme series, this is one of Jeffery Deaver's better books. It is suspenseful until the very end. If you enjoy any of Deaver's other books, you will thouroughly enjoy this one. Make sure you have time to read -- once you get past halfway in the book, you will not be able to put it down.

8deaf girls and their teachers are taken off a bus and held hostage by an escaped murder, Low Handy and two other inmates. While FBI negotiator Arthur Potter tries to outwit Handy, teacher Melanie Charrol takes on the killers from the inside. Very chilling.

As usual Deaver comes through again. This was a little hard for me to get in to at first but once I got past that point, it was a good read.

This is an excellent thriller, with Deaver's classic twists that keep you guessing and second guessing up to the last page. Even then, everything you think is probably wrong!
