Dr. Alan Gregory novel. With searing authenticity and a plot right out of today's headlines, Critical Conditons is a stunning portrait of how far people will go in the name of love.

Dr Alan Gregory, a clinical psychologist, works with a young girl, traumatized by a murder, who is now refusing to speak. Her sister, who is dying, has been rejected by her HMO, as a candidate for the experimental treatment she needs. Finding the link between these two cases, plunges Alan into terrible danger. Another real page turner.

I like the style of Shephen White's writing and I really like his character in this book, Dr. Alan Gregory. Although he's a psychologist, he spends a lot of his time investigating murders...and he's pretty darn good at it!! This makes about 4 or 5 books that I've read about Dr. Alan Gregory and they are all excellent books.

When Dr. Alan Gregory is called to the ICU on an emergency, he finds himself in the heart of a medical tragedy. Fifteen year old Merritt Strait lies clinging to life after a suicide attempt. She is the stepsister of Chaney Strait, a little girl with a fatal heart condition, who's making headlines because her managed care provider has turned down the experimental treatment that could save her life. The case takes a deadly turn as a wealthy exec of the family's HMO is found dead - and evidence links Merritt. One book in a series of thirteen. Great mystery series.

Another action packed Dr. Alan Gregory adventure. This one didn't let up for a second. Maybe one of the best in the series. If you're a fan of Stephen White, you won't be disappointed. If you're a fan of Jonathan Kellerman and you haven't discovered White yet, what are you waiting for?
