Book Description:
Ever since her brand new husband flew the coop, Magdalena Yoder, owner of the quaint PennDutch Inn, has had time to kill. And now the local Amish community really has a murder in its midst: an Asian tourist found strangled and run over by a horse and buggy. It isn't a crime police chief Melvin Stoltzfus can easily handle; after all, he was once kicked in the head by a bull he was trying to milk. But he's smart enough to deputize Magdalena.

I struggled to get through this book. I don't know if it's because it is about the sixth book in this series I've read and they're all starting to sound alike or if it wasn't that good. I've liked the other books I've read, but in this one Magdalena was really getting on my nerves. I had to make myself pick the book up and read it, that to me is not a good sign. I'm not completely done reading the series, but I think I may be getting close. Too many other really good ones out there to put up with not so good ones.

I've liked the previous books in this series, but this one was slow for me. It was still funny and enjoyable, however. Mags and Susannah will make you laugh, and so will Freni.

More silly than thought provoking, but great brain candy

Not as good as the previous ones. Seems to be lacking a strong plot. Still a good quick read, however.

Magdalena Yoder, now recently wed and left by her husband, tries to hel the Police Chieft solve another murder. She is off to the farms of the Plain People, where she is unwelcome, to look for clues and solve the murder. Another fun Magdalena Yoder book, fun as usual.

Amusing. Different take than most mysteries.

I was underwhelmed and glad when I reached the last page. The recipes, however, are keepers and I will be trying those out soon.
