Book Description:
With New York City policewoman April Woo, Leslie Glass is rapidly creating an intensely loyal readership for her superb novels of criminal investigation and psychological suspense. Newly promoted to sergeant after several years bucking the NYPD's male-dominated system, Woo is first on the scene when the wife of a former football star is stabbed to death in Times Square, along with a male companion. Public frenzy immediately seizes on the husband as the killer, and Woo's former partner, homicide detective Mike Sanchez, is ready to go after him full throttle. But even with the heat coming down from City Hall, Woo doesn't like shortcuts-especially when the real killer may still be at large. *Fresh, exciting psychological suspense from a hot new author. *As an Asian-American policewoman, April Woo is unique in current crime fiction. *Leslie Glass has a strong and building track record. *Terrific reviews and quotes from well-known authors for her previous books. * Leslie Glass's Loving Time was chosen by Mostly Murder as one of the "Year's Best" novels in 1996.

This was a new character for me and a good surprise. April Wood is a great character and the book was an interesting read. The blurb reads: "The novels featuring NYPD detective April Woo have been praised as 'polished and intriguing' and 'gripping psychological drama'. Now April faces her most challenging investigation yet. A man and woman lie dead on a snowy Manhattan sidewalk, the primary suspect is the murdered woman's husband, African-American ex-football star Rick Liberty. For Detective Woo, it's a homicide case engulfed in a media storm of race, class, sex and celebrity. But somewhere, buried in all the publicity, lies the truth, and an extremely dangerous killer."

I love her April Woo series and this was no exception.

The story isn't littered with clues and is not a classic whodunit in the style of Holmes. Read the story so it unfolds, don't try to puzzle it out on your own.

Characters weren't overly developed, might be because this is the first in this series I've read. Either way the story was pretty one dimensional. Enjoyed it but it wasn't something that I was compelled to finish.
