A young couple buys a home in a gated community. From the first day, things go wrong... just a few months later, it ALL goes wrong. Very creepy, those C. C. & R.'s!!! I read this in two days. It scared me the same way "Pacific Heights" scared me as an apartment dweller!

This was the first Bently Little book I read. It captured me where I couldn't put it down and created emotions I didn't even know I had. It's unbelievable how anyone could even write such horrific events.

Scary, addictive, and a great read. The story is over the top, but it is an examination of what may happen when a society becomes complacent and allows its freedoms to be eroded.

Having worked for a homeowners assn management company for 5 years and living in a HOA-run complex, this book really hit home with me. What Bentley writes about these "little Hitlers" (as I call them) is more true than anything I've ever read. Mr. Little must have either lived in one or heard about the horror stories of what goes on and just took it several steps farther. Excellent, excellent read and so far my favorite from Little.

I absolutely hated this book. My in-laws recommended it and I kept reading it thinking that it would surely get better somehow, but it did not happen! Completely disappointing!

Pretty creepy.....makes those of us who live in a subdivision with a homeowners association look over our shoulders!

Bentley Little is one of my all-time favorite horror authors. It is amazing to me how he can take one mundane concept and craft an entire horror novel around it.

This book is about the horrors of moving into a gated community. Very good read.

Great suspense story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I remembered the story vividly when I considered moving into a home with an "association".

I love Bently Little's books and how he makes the common and every day stuff terrifying. In the Association it is an exclusive gated community that is terrifying. The Association has a rule book that must be followed. Their rules go beyond the normal rules expected in gated communities even so far as dictating where you should work and who you can have as friends. Breaking their rules results in severe punishment - both financial and physical, even death.
