Book Description:
When fashion columnist Lacey Smithsonian learns that a new fashion museum will soon grace decidedly unfashionable D.C., it's more than a good story-it's a chance to show off her vintage Hugh Bentley suit. And it's not long before the dapper designer himself spots Lacey in the crowd. A reporter at heart, she manages to get all the juicy details about his past-including a long-unsolved mystery about a missing employee. Could it be linked to the disappearance of a Washington intern or the recent Bentley boutique robbery? Lacey sets out to unravel the murderous details in a fabric of lies, greed-and (gasp!) very bad taste...

Continuation of fashion writer mysteries with amusing fashion column breaks. Sound writing and characterization and an appealing nod to vintage clothes ( I am not a clothes person myself but the author's interest and love for the subject comes across in a good way). Not too hard, not too romantic and interesting with some humor. A good solid intrepid reporter/mystery type which is worth dipping into to see if it is your cup of tea.

I am enjoying this series. A lot of fun. The internal "Fashion Bites" are great!

In this one Lacey covers a fashion museum opening in Washington D.C. She wears her vintage Hugh Bentley suit left to her by her Aunt Mimi. It is recognized by the designer, which pulls Lacey into a new mystery. There is a missing intern, and a disappearance from her Aunt's day. Can they be related? And what about the robbery of the Bentley's boutique? And what about Vic and their relationship! Of course we also find Stella in this one. And meet Miguel.

each book gets better and better. This is a series and I think best read in order. But the books have a great plot, lots of good humor, and wonderful characters.

In the course of covering the opening of a fashion museum for the "Eye Street Observer, Lacey uncovers a long-unsolved mystery that turns out to be much more than a crime of fashion.
