As a guidance counselor at an elite, Bel Air high school, Lara Stone is definitely not ready to have any spoiled, bratty kids of her own. I had watched the tellie show BEFORE I read the book, so I kept finding myself comparing the two. It was a quick read (I read it in 2 days) and it was nice to see a pregnancy from the beginning to the end not idealized as "perfect" ... because honestly, is there such a thing? I think that the bits Lara says are things that those of us that are mothers have always wanted to say outloud!! I did chuckle and laugh out loud a couple of times ... I'd recommend the book, even if you didn't like the telly series (although I did), because they really are totally different. Risa Green is working on a sequel about life with baby ...

Total chick lit, but I have to say that I laughed out loud many times. There was so much that reminded me of my own first pregnancy. I highly recommend this book.

A good read but I really hope the author didn't base the main character on herself....what a snot!
