Book Description:
It's a business trip that takes advertising agency owner Maddie Fitzgerald down to New Orleans, but it's hardly business as usual when a man breaks into her hotel room and tries to kill her. Barely escaping with her life, the sexy, stylish twenty-nine-year-old brunette soon finds herself face-to-face with FBI agent Sam McCabe. Unnerved by his questions - and his good looks - Maddie is told she's been targeted by an elusive killer whom McCabe has been tracking for weeks. Apparently, she's been mistaken fro a woman of the same name who was also staying at the hotel that night. McCabe grills her, and then disappears. Shaken, Maddie finishes her business and returns home to St. Louis.

Days later, she is attacked a second time and McCabe convinces her that the only way she'll ever be save again is if the killer is caught, and that the quickest way to nab him is to use her as bait. Maddie reluctantly agrees, and sparks fly and then ignite as McCabe shadows her. But their unexpected romance throws McCabe off his stride - and puts Maddie in the hands of a killer.

A bewitching combination of pulse-pounding twists and blazing romance, Bait is the remarkable Karen Robards at her best.

OMgosh! I enjoyed this one! Karen Robards weaves a tale of suspense and romance (with just the right amount of each). Maddie Fitzgerald is attacked in a New Orleans hotel and FBI Agent Sam McCabe thinks that she's the target of a serial killer.

Robards' writing style is an easy read, which is good because you'll be in a hurry to see what happens next.

When beautiful advertising executive Maddie Fitzgerald is attacked in a New Orleans hotel, she thinks that she's a victim of random, senseless violence. FBI agent Sam McCabe thinks otherwise--that she's the target of a serial killer who's eluded the FBI for weeks. He also knows that there's only one way to catch him: use Maddie as the enticing bait. But as McCabe's intimate protection ignites irresistible passion, Maddie finds herself in greater danger than she believed possible--and closer to the killer than she imagined....

This was an excellent book, hard to put down, and wishing it wasn't over when it ended.

just when you think you know someone, it's time to think again. that's what you'll be saying after you read this breath-taking romantic suspense. maddie thinks her attack was just a random act of violence. but when sam enters the picture, things begin to change. maddie can't stand the thought of him being around, but she soon realizes, she can't stand the thought of him NOT being around. robards has you at the edge of you seat waiting to see what will happen, a real page turner.

Beautiful advertising executive Maddie Fitzgerald is attacked in New Orleans, she thinks she is a victim of random, senseless violeance. FBI agent Sam McCabe thinks otherwise....that she is the target of a serial killer who has eluded the FBI for weeks. He also knows there is only way to catch him: us Maddie as the enticing bait.
