While I've enjoyed the rest of the series, this book was a chore for me to get through. Into the Flame is the finale of the series. I was looking forward to the bantering dialogue and simmering attraction between the two protaganists. Instead, the story was flat, the "attraction" was b.o.r.i.n.g. I found myself skimming and having to go back and re-read. Overall, a disappointment.

This book picks up where book 3 left off - with Firebird and her startling revelation.
Unlike other brothers, I like Doug. I feel that he is more human and emotional than others. Maybe what happened to him as a baby made him that way.
A great conclusion to the series.

It starts off all macho but of course the guy becomes love struck. This is the first of four in a set. Get all four to read on right after the other. Three brothers (shift changers) and a sister who isnt. Great set. im glad i got all four at once. Jany

This book really pulled the previous books together and comfirmed some unanswered questions.

"ROAMING THE RUSSIAN STEPPES A THOUSAND YEARS AGO, A BRUTAL WARRIOR STRUCK A TERRIFYING DEAL. IN EXCHANGE FOR THE ABILITY TO TRANSFORM INTO A HEARTLESS PREDATOR, HE PROMISED HIS SOUL- AND THE SOULS OF HIS DESCENDANTS- TO THE DEVIL."

Thus began this truly wonderfully creative quadrilogy by Christina Dodd, culminating in this final Book 4 that, if anything, is more spell-binding than the other three, all of which I could not 'tear' myself from very easily.

This book is different from the other three because in it we are not searching for the fourth image of the holy icon (a single painting divided into four images of the Madonna). This book focuses on the finding of the fourth son (as stated in the prophecy): the four sons of Konstantine and Zorana will find their true love, who will locate one of the images. When they are all put together the evil Varanskis will be defeated.

Firebird, the 'daugher' unknowingly falls in love with a cop name of Doug Black, who is actually the 4th son unbeknownst to him or to Firebird; and he already has the 4th image, but is not aware of its value. The story goes on via many VERY intriguing routes, but WHAT A STORY!!!!!

It would be prudent to read the first 3 books leading to this ending; believe me it will not be a chore, and many probably have already done this. This is one of the BEST series I have ever read in my MANY years of reading.

I read the 2nd book in this series first, followed by the 3rd and then this book (have not been able to get a copy of the first Darkness Chosen book yet). Because this is the last book, Dodd has to wrap up the whole family-feud/war... and somehow Doug and Firebird's story gets cheated. I liked the two main characters, but they didn't get as much time together, and we didn't really see them interact as much as the other Wilders did in the previous books.
This is a good book to read if you want to finish the series, but you might be slightly disappointed should you compare it to the others.

This one just didn't do it for me. Maybe, because I started with the last instead of the first book. But, I have found with a good story the segment you pick up first shouldn't make a difference.

I just don't think I liked this one as much as the other three. Maybe because in my subconcious something is telling me that this is the last of the series.

I found most of the story was too far-fetched and unbelievable. It wrapped up everything with the other books in the series, but I didn't feel connected as with the other stories. The "shifter" was barely in the story doing any shifting; and there were MAYBE two love scenes. And, the "fight" scenes were absolutely horrible. I suggest some romance writers just need to stick to romance. Just when can you carry on a conversation with someone while you are being shot at?

I am not disappointed I read this, I don't feel like I wasted my time; but, I just don't feel satisfied. I think Dodd could have done much better; I absolutely loved the rest of the series...but I guess we all have bad days.
