Dennis L. McKiernan's Mithgar books are among the most beloved in all of fantasy fiction. The Iron Tower includes the first three novels set in the world of Mithgar-collected in a single volume for the first time-with an all-new introduction by the author.
Do you remember in the Eddie Murphy movie "Coming to America" there was a McDowell's burger shop? It looked like McDonald's, had "Golden Arcs", served the Big Mick with "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but they use a sesame seed bun. My buns have no seeds."
This book is the McDowell's of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
If you are okay with that, then you should read it.
If you het the eerie feeling you have read this before, it is probably because you read Tolkien. It is practically the same book.Complete with wars, scary long lived guy in a tower, travelling through the old dwarves homeland that has been taken over by ancient evil, it just goes on.but, that said, it is still a good read.Entertaining and easy to read. Not a bad book, but if you don't like copycats or knockoffs, don't read it.
