This book is very provocative and takes a while to get into, but overall it ended well and made me want to read the sequel to it. There are several...different... things in this book that may lead you not to like it, however, you should give it a chance.

This is a very gritty series and not gentle in any manner. It focuses mostly on female suppression and is a study in horrors that a female encounters in a subservile society. It is nonetheless a very interesting storyline in a fantastical world.

Before I requested this book, I read quite a few reviews and people seemed to either love or hate it.

It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it held my interest, I liked it, and I'll move on to the 2nd book in the trilogy.
