Book Description:
HOW DOES A BLONDE SPELL "FARM"? E-I-E-I-O Tressa Jayne Turner has had it up to here with the never ending string of dumb-blonde jokes and her longtime nickname that's harder to get rid of than lint from a belly button. Crowned "Calamity Jayne" by Iowa Department of Natural Resources officer Rick Townsend, Tressa's out to gain a little hometown respect - or die trying. Unfortunately for Tressa, that may be the case. She's just been handed the perfect opportunity to get "Ranger Rick," the doubting Don Juan of the DNR, and a skeptical citizenry to finally take her seriously. How? By solving a murder no one else believes happened ... no one, that is, except the killer. Yup, Calamity Jayne is in it up to her hot pink snakeskin cowgirl boots and matching rhinestone belt - and it's a matter of life and death, respect and reputation, love, happiness and the whole shebang. Tressa would tell you her momma never raised no dummies, but the jury's still out on that one. And as she learned in her work at the Dairee Freeze: Sometimes life hands you a big sloppy ice cream cone. You just have to know how to lick it.

Cute mystery, I guess the first of a series, and I liked it enough to put the follow-ups on my Wish List. Although I just can't imagine what other calamities Jayne can get herself into...

Funny, funny, funny. And don't forget to read the sequels: "Calamity Jayne Rides Again" and "Ghouls Just Want To Have Fun".

Too funny! Filled with one liners and oddball characters and set in contemporary Iowa farm country. Blonde "Calamity Jayne", nicknamed by her brother's pal and her nemisis "Ranger Rick" really get on each other's last nerve everytime they run into each other. Tressa Jayne sets out to get the last word as she competes with Ranger Rick to catch a murderer in their backyard.

Tressa Jane is up to her eyeball in trouble. Finding a body in the trunk of a car she mistakenly thought was hers begins a madcap adventure. This book is hysterically funny from the front to back. I whole heartedly enjoyed it and gave it 5 stars.

very funny...Calamity Jayne didn't get her nickname for nothing! The cast of characters is hilarious.
Similar to Stephanie Plum, so if you like Janet Evanovich, you'll like this one.

Absolutely loved it. This is the first in the series and it really sucks you in. Best to start with this one first so you get acquanited with the characters. If you love Janet Evanovich's Stepahanie Plum, then you'll love Calamity Jayne. This book made me laugh out loud!

How does a blonde spell "farm", e-i-e-i-o. Tressa Jayne is tired of the blond jokes and her nickname. She sets out to gain a little respect by solving a murder no one else belives happened...no one except the killer.
