Book Description:
FROM AMAZON:

It's never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl. For Lizzie Brown, that's just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she's seen it all, Lizzie learns she's a demon slayer -- and all hell is after her.

Of course, that's not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos, a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you've never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And if that doesn't work, how dangerous could a little seduction be...?

I love paranormal stories, and I love a great sense of humor and quirky characters in them. However, that must be done well or it's just irritating- sadly that's what "Accidental" was for me. Our "heroine" literally has NO personality, she's kind of a stand-in who reacts to things however the author thinks she should to progress the scene- whether it makes sense or not.

It's established very early on that she doesn't like her dog much, then she spends the rest of the book screaming for him if he's ever not in her arms at the moment- why does she start caring so much out of nowhere? She's dull, she's not smart and the whole "love interest" angle was pathetic and poorly done. She never uses her brains or courage, and her "gifts" are literally slapped onto her at the last minute- and of course she can easily use them, even though she didn't show any basic motor skills or common sense before. I liked her sassy grandma, and I only wished SHE was the star in this book. The whole thing reeks of being slapped together quickly, and I suspect it may have been to cash in on the success of paranormal and "cozy" funny books. I'll stick to Sookie Stackhouse and Queen Betsy instead of Lizzie Brown, thankyouverymuch.

I didn't have a lot of expectations when I picked up this book. I was just hoping for a fun, fluffy read. I didn't even get that. The characters have the potential to be interesting, but are never fully developed. The plot points seemed to move too quickly, jumping from one incident to the next, with a minimal amount of build up, and sudden, unsatisfying conclusions. For example, the author introduces us to a werewolf clan, sets us up for a big battle, and then within two pages its over and done. Very unsatisfying. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this one.

"All in all" this book was OK. At the beginning all the characters really irritated me. It was like standing in a room and everybody talking at once. I was frustrated that no one explained anything to the main character, Lizzie, but she just goes with anything she's told. There a section that deals with werewolves - don't really think it was necessary unless the author was setting up the alpha to be used in a future story. I have to admit my favorite character was Pirate....her dog.

I really was not impressed with this book. The characters never developed. The story seemed contrived. It *could* have been good. It *sounded* like a good, fun, lighthearted read. Oh well. At least it didn't take long to read!

I usually love books that are written with a humorus slant.
This one sucks. Hard to follow all the garbage the author
throws in.

This book was very interesting for me to read.

First off, instead of bringing you slowly into this story, it pretty much throws you right into it without a warning. I mean you jump right in to Lizzie's 30th Birthday and her grandmother (whom she's only recently just met) has locked her in her bathroom saying she is a witch. The moment the time hits Lizzie starts seeing crazy demons and creatures that she never knew existed.

Secondly, it is like never ending action. There is always something else that is fixing to happen just after they have gotten themselves out of the last situation! It was almost too fast for me at times, it was like you never got a breather and also that I would have to back up and re-read a paragraph or two to even remember what in the world was going on.

I did however enjoy this book. I loved how her dog, Pirate talks, he is the comedy of the story and I loved it. The romance with Lizzie and Dimitri was intense and interesting. You felt very many different feelings throughout this book.
Definitely worth the read!

The book was well written but the story line was very slow moving in the beginning. It finally started to pick up in the middle of the book.

First time I have read this author. It was really different, more fantasy than paranormal in my opionion. I will probably read others in the series. It wasn't one of my favorite, just okay.
