Part of the Three Sisters Trilogy. They were great, as usual. I can't get enough of Nora Roberts.

Second in a series of three. The books deal with nice witches who have a few troubles. Nice read!

Second book in the Three Sisters Island Trilogy--
This book centers on Ripley Todd, the sheriff's deputy on Three Sisters Island, who is also a witch decended from the women who created the island as a safe haven during the Salem Witch Trials. Ripley must learn to accept the power she has inside, and figure out what to do about Dr. MacAllister Booke, a paranormal researcher who is investigating the legend of the Three Sisters and their modern ancestors.

2nd in this series and deals more heavily with witchcraft and evil taking control of someone's body(not sure the technical witch term for this)but this book has a LOT of anger in it. I think Ripley is the more outgoing/hot tempered of the 3 witches but with what she's dealing with I can't say I blame her for all the anger. Good story though it sorta lost me towards the end with her challenge and I found this one a bit more uncomfortable with the witchcraft and stuff going on than the first book. I'm reading the 3rd book now and it's already full of even more anger than this one but a lot is about to happen to finish what needs finishing.

Right from the start, he knows there's something extraordinary about Ripley Todd. It's not just her blazing green eyes and her sultry smile. There's something else. Something he can detect, but she'll never admit. Fascinated by her struggle with her amazing abilities, he becomes determined to help her accept who she is-and find the courage to open her heart.
But before Ripley and Mac can dream of what lies in the future, they must confront the pain of the past. For Three Sisters shelters centuries of secrets-and a legacy of danger that plagues them still....

I thought this was a great book. I first read The 1st triology Dance Upon Fire and was excited when I received this book. If you have read Nora Roberts before I think you will truly enjoy this triology.

Second book in the Three Sisters Island Trilogy. This is Ripley Todd's story. Although she keeps busy as the sheriff's deputy, and tries to deny the existence of witchcraft, the handsome paranormal researcher, MacAllister Burke, romances her and draws her further and further into a magical world that she's tried so desperately to avoid. Can he win her love and also get her cooperation in developing his research into the world of the occult?
