Qwill and the cats-Koko and Yum Yum-are at the Nutcracker Inn in Black Creek when a drowned guest puts a damper on their stay. And if they don't solve the murder soon, they're going to be up the creek without a paddle...

I didn't make it much farther than page 50 on this one. I need to remind myself to NOT read a Cat Who book more frequently than once every six months or so; they all start to sound alike.
This one seemed to suffer from left-hand-right-hand editing. In the first 50 pages I lost count of the non sequiturs. Or maybe I just wasn't reading enough into the written situations to make the leap?
Either way, occasionally and in small doses I really enjoy these books. This one was particularly jarring, and I didn't even stick around to find out whodunit or whom it was dun to.

From the publisher, "Meet prizewinning reporter Jim Qwilleran and his extraordinary Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum -- the most unlikely, most unusual, most delightful team in detective fiction!"

Another in "The Cat Who" series...lightweight, but enjoyable. Anyone who loves cats, mysteries, good food or an easy read would enjoy this one!

Jim Qwilleran is enjoying his stay at the Nutcracker Inn in Black Creek. His two Siamese, Koko and Yum Yum, don't seem quite as pleased with the accommodations..though Koko does enjoy keeping a keen eye on the squirrels and other local wildlife. Then, while Koko's eagerly watching some jumping trout, he spots something else: a body, floating downstream. When it's revealed that the victim was a guest at the inn--and had nuggets of gold hidden in his shoes--Qwill dives into the case. And if he and the cats don't solve it soon, they're going to be up the creek with a paddle...........
