A Texan's Luck (Wife Lottery, Bk 3) Author:Jodi Thomas
Book Description:
Captain Walker Larson received the shock of his life when a beautiful stranger walked into his office - claiming to be his wife. His father may have bought Lacy for him in a "Wife Lottery," but Captain Walker Larson had no desire for a bride -- even one as captivating as the one standing before him. So he promptly sent Lacy back to Cedar Point.
Nearly three years later, Lacy is shocked when Walker shows up on her doorstep - ordered by the military to protect his wife from a killer. Lacy wants nothing to do with the gruff soldier who once drove her away.
But despite their different lifestyles and expectations, she finds herself wondering if their marriage was a far better gamble than either of them had imagined....and what it would feel like to be in his arms.

LOVED THIS BOOK i thought this was a good ending to the trilogy, Lucy and the Captain were great together, took some time for them to get really really physical but understandable if you meet your husband once in 5 years but worth the chemistry in the end. The other characters are just fun to read and of course the humor is always good the 3 books within the series was my first JODI THOMAS read and won't be my last..

Loved this book which is the third book of a series. The characters are wonderfully developed. The story captured my interest immediately and I just wanted to do nothing but read until I was finished. Each book in the series stands alone but if possible read all 4 books as characters from each book are common throughout.

4 stars. The hero's father buys the heroine in a wife lottery and marries her to the hero (who is off in the army) by proxy. After a brief, unhappy first encounter several years after the 'wedding,' the protagonists don't see each other again until he is granted 30 days leave and ordered to go protect his wife from an outlaw who's probably gunning for her. Despite the short timespan, their growing love for each other seems believable. The hero is tender, the heroine is likable; the book seems balanced between plot and love story. All in all a great read.

The conclusion of the trilogy about three women who enter a "wife lottery" to avoid jail. Set in the old West.
