Robert Harlan has three loves: his wife, his daughter, and his writing. But when his thirst for success causes him to lose focus on his happy family life, ambition begins to consume him. When a stranger appears with a mysterious message about the brevity of his future, he discovers the truth about himself: who he has become, what he has lost, and what it will take to find love again.

Excellent story. I could not put this book down. It was a very quick read. I would highly recommend it. It tells the story of a man whose live changes and he makes decisions based on his new status. Then he gets some bad news. Makes you think about what is truly important.

A good story in the genre of "Its a Wonderful Life". I just saw this movie with Rob Lowe and it stayed close to the book. You'll love it.
A family twisted with the success of the writer Dad; great book.

A great book about death. It is viewed in a very sensitive manner. I did a book study on this book and learned a lot. Very good story line and easy to read.

First time read for this author and thought it was pretty good book. Will be checking out other books by Evans soon.

Not the best Evans book I've read, but still worth reading. Fans of Og Mandino would like this book.

Excellent story about an author that discovers having what he always thought he wanted isn't enough if you lose precious things along the way!

Robert is finally getting his life's dream...a best selling novel, and the success many just dream of. He enjoy's his success but at a price. His travels and life of a famous author leads him away from the two people he loves the most-his wife and daughter. Will he make the right choice between love and success?
