Jeff P. (I pleasant read about a country vet during war time. Herriot discusses some of his war experiences going through RAF training and intersperses memories of his home and job. Generally uplifting and positive, it follows in the tradition of his earlier books.
A wonderful read if you want chapters that are like short stories. There is little connection between the chapters and no plot other than disconnect episodes in Mr. Herriot's life. I totally enjoyed the book after I realized it was a series of short stories.
Ashley W. (This is my least favorite of the books, but that does not mean it is not a great book. It is still a good book, I just don't like the look into military life. But it is still a great read.
