'The Greatest Salesman in the World' is a quick, enjoyable read, but don't expect any revelatory information. Its premise is that anyone can be 'The Greatest Salesman in the World' or, if not a salesman, a success at anything they do if they just follow a few guidelines that are set forth in nine 'scrolls'. The information in the scrolls are really a bit of common sense thrown in with a few Christian tenets like loving yourself and everyone around you, always seeing the good in people and not judging them, trying hard and never giving up, believing in yourself, etc. It's nothing you haven't heard before in any self-help book out there. What the author, Og Mandino, does differently in this book is to present it as a Christian parable, set in the Middle East, with the birth, life, and death of Christ as a part of the story.
