Maturing baby-boomers will become more productive and better savers. Current federal budget and trade levels have been incorrectly measured--deficits will disappear. Although unrelentingly optimistic, these theses, proposed by Morris, author of Iron Destinies, Lost Opportunities: The Arms Race Between the U.S.A. and the USSR 1945-1987 ( LJ 8/88), are believable, and the evidence is convincing. This book contains an uncommon amount of common sense. Highly recommended for all libraries as a well-written counterweight to books espousing the gloom-and-doom school of international economics.
