Book Description:
Forward by Ashley Montagu.

For half a century, the all-natural Bradley method has helped mothers have healthy babies and joyful birthing experiences -- and made fathers partners in the miracle of life. Laughter in the birthing room, dramatically shorter labor, a reduction of pain, an absence of drugs, fewer complications, robust newborns, and a spirit of pride and joy are the common experience of couples who use The Bradley Method of Childbirth.

Developed by renowned obstetrician Dr. Robert A. Bradley, this completely natural method, based on a calming pattern of relaxation, abdominal breathing, and loving teamwork between husband and wife, is now preferred by thousands of physicians and used by couples all over the world. It allows expectant mothers to enjoy the total support of their partners, gives fathers a chance to fully participate in the birth of their children, and provides babies with the best, and healthiest, of all possible starts.

This is a great book. Though it is a bit outdated in parts the messages about birth and labor are still very relevant. It is a great way to prepare for your baby's birth as a couple and very enriching to your relationship as it has you doing relaxation exercises and other labor planning as a team. It is even better alongside the Bradley Method classes that are taught all over the country.

This book helped my husband and I achieve two natural childbirths. More importantly, it gave us in-depth information about pregnancy and childbirth so that we could make choices that were the best for us and our children.

This is one of the few books I found that speaks directly to the father (without being a "humorous look at..."). Some of the information is a little dated (late 80s/early 90s), but most of it is still good advice (and it's fun to chuckle about how far we've come!).

Excellent book if you are interested in natural, non-medicated birth - with the full involvement of the other partner. I won't say husband - because I know and am excited that there are alternative couples giving birth too.
