Sandra B. (Excellent book! Not a depressing ending like most of his books!!! :)
Realistic depiction of the life of a smoke jumper.
Patti S. (I was interested in this book because I am a firefighter...so the name jumped out at me. I thought the story line would mainly be about firefighting, and smoke jumpers in particular. But in truth, it is actually a love story, with 2 of the main characters as smoke jumpers. And yes, some of the story has fire settings, but as I said, it is not the core of the book. If you like a good love story, this book is great....I still enjoyed it even though it was not what I originally thought it would be.
