Exciting book! It is (as usual) better than the movie. My husband read the book when it was first released years back and enjoyed it the second time around after watching the movie.

WOW! Best action fiction I've read in ages. Brought back a lot of memories. Well written with good detail.

Personal: this is one scary story that grabs you and won't let go until the end. And even after the endiing it is hard to leave the story & shivers behind!

The tension never lets up. Steven Hunter has done for the rifle what Tom Clancy did for the nuclear submarine.
Bob Lee Swagger is a classic fiction hero!

MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE!! If you liked the movie, you'll LOVE the book. The movie left out much of Hunter's plot.

Swagger is an ex Marine niper who is drawn into a huge power play by a group of conspirators. Really kept me hopping trying to figure what was coming next.
