Book Description:
He's the kind of killer we instinctively fear the most. A killer without boundaries, without conscience, without any fear of being caught. And his latest victim is terrifying proof that no one is safe: the daughter of a powerful U.S. senator.

Now, with the national media calling for justice and a grief-stricken father seeking vengeance, Bishop and his FBI Special Crimes Unit find themselves in a unique situation. This time even psychic cops aren't enough to stop evil. Aid comes in the form of a fledgling civilian organization of unorthodox crime stoppers. Operating outside of any government oversight, without sanction or official authority, they are comprised of a membership every bit as talented and eccentric as Bishop's SCU - if not more so. And that is no coincidence. For Bishop helped launch this organization barely two years before.

Dani Justice knows about monsters. They haunt her nightmares - and her life. But she never expected to find herself doggedly on the trail of a real flesh-and-blood predator so cunning, he's eluded the best law enforcement could send up against him; so deadly, he doesn't hesitate to kill even a senator's daughter. Or a cop.

Dani doesn't want to hunt this killer. She doesn't want to risk the life she's made for herself, or her hard-won peace. But she doesn't have a choice. Because his bloody rampage has hit far too close to home. Because Dani alone commands a weapon powerful enough to destroy him.

And because Dani knows something even Bishop doesn't. Dani knows how the hunt ends. It ends in fire. And blood. And death.

What she doesn't know is who will survive.

After reading her first book I was hooked. I thoroughly enjoy the Bishop series. That being said, this is by far my least favorite. I just didn't feel the camaraderie that flows in the others.
She's tried something new in this one too. It seems she's fleshing out the whole picture of the group rather than just focusing on an individual.

This is another good book by Kay Hooper. Just like her others, there's a lot of intrigue and a little romance thrown in too. I didn't like the ending but it does prepare you for the next book.

Not what I expected of Kay Hooper and definitely not what I expected from a Noah Bishop novel. All in all, the book was an easy read. Too little detail about the killer. The ending totally sucked and left me hanging wanting more. Not one of her best books. I guess we will now see a "Blood" series because it's obvious that it isn't over with this novel.

Disappointed in this "Bishop" novel. Really not up to par for Kay Hooper's work.

Dani Justice has pre-cognitive dreams or rather nightmares. She has been having this particular one for some months now. She has come home to her hometown just outside of Atlanta, Georgia to spend time with her identical twin sister, Paris, who has just gone through a very painful divorce. Dani and Paris have known since they were kids that they have more than just a special "twin" connection. They each have their own psychic abilities that are enhanced when they work together. In order to help others, they have joined a private organization (Haven) run by John and Maggie Garret that consists of many different types of psychics. This organization was started as an idea of FBI Special Agent Noah Bishop. Bishop is the head of the Special Crimes Unit that also has primarily psychics working for it.

Bishop and his team had been tracking a very evil serial killer in Boston who killed a dozen women. The last one killed was the daughter of a US Senator who has offered his help and resources to Bishop and who very much wants this killer caught if he has to do it himself!

Dani's dreams show her and other members of Bishop's unit in a warehouse that is on fire as they are searching for the killer and someone he has captured that they know. The dream keeps changing a bit but some things are consistent so that Dani knows this will happen in some way. Dani also runs into her former love, Marc Purcell who is the sheriff. Marc has some special abilities of his own.

The story grows in intensity and plot twists although not quite enough time is spent telling us more about Dani and Paris' relationship and work for Haven. I anxiously await the next book in the series!

Although this isn't my favorite story in the Bishop/SCU series, I still found it to be a quick, engaging read.

Dani has come home to Venture, Georgia, to comfort her twin sister, Paris, after her divorce. Or so she says. Both women know that there's really another reason that Dani has finally come home.

These sisters share a bond even closer than the normal one between twins, because they both possess psychic abilities. And Dani has been having dream visions that tell her an evil is coming to Venture, and that a showdown is inevitable.

Bishop and his SCU team have been tracking a vicious serial killer for over a month. When the demented killer made the mistake of killing a Senator's daughter, the murders in Boston abruptly stopped -- but Bishop is sure this particular killer isn't finished. And he's not, because it soon becomes apparent that he's come to the small town of Venture.

With Dani and Paris, Bishop and Miranda, John Garrett and his team from Haven (a civilian pyschic unit started by Bishop), and Venture's sherriff (and once Dani's lover) Marc, you're looking at a situation that's bound to end badly. Because this is one serial killer who is even more evil, and powerful, than any of them ever imagined.

BLOOD DREAMS is definitely a quick read, and kept me guessing throughout the story. Totally enjoyable, and it's most likely a set-up for more books centering around these characters.
