"Freefall" -- This is a paberback 9 x 10 1/2" picture book with the most beautiful illustrations.. much like on the cover -but more detailed. The story begins with the young boy falling asleep while reading a book which appears to be an atlas.. as he drifts off, so does a page which flows to a land like a maze/chess diagram and on.. to knights, dragons, more books and people who he joins on a journey to a city.. and oceans with swans and fish ... and he finally wakes in the morning to the things in his room which were in his dreams. Quite lovely, and a pleasure to look at with a child and discuss all that is seen. A fine addition to any library.

"...a classic example of fantasy and adventure...Just as in a dream, the book presents strange locales and unusual characters, which keep the action moving and the pages turning." -Booklist

Beautiful artwork. Wiesner's usual whimsical pictoral story leaves so much to the imagination. A lot of fun. Hard to stop looking and imagining.
