This is a very family-friendly book that I enjoyed reading. It is not a mystery but rather a story of a small town and the folks who live there. Charming.

This is the 8th novel in the best-selling Mitford Years series. I loved every one of these books, but this is special because it is a Christmas story. When I finished the series I was sad to leave these friends behind. Write more, Jan Karon!!!

This was a cute Christmas story. You do need to read the other books in this series to understand the characters to their fullest.

A welcome home to Mitford fans to Karon's gift
for illuminating the struggles that creep into eeryday lives--along with a vividly imagined and wonderful world.
