This entry in the Mitch Rapp series is good if you are reading the series in order, because it brings together the characters from Term Limits and Transfer of Power and brings continuity to all of Flynn's books so far. Also, I enjoyed the story much better than the last book - it was more suspenseful.

Just the book for those who seek out intrigue, behind-the-scenes betrayal and politics in Washington DC.
The character Mitch Rapp is one of the most memorable I've met in a long time, and the stories Vince Flynn has composed around Rapp are so intriguing it's hard to put the book down.
I've just started the third book in the series. If you have not read the book that starts the series, get Term Limits, also on my bookshelf, as your first, and get this one as your next 'read'. I will have the third book posted shortly as i can barely stop reading this intriguing series!

A good thriller with very likable good guys and despicable bad guys. A quick page-turner with plenty of action, but the plot is a bit contrived.
3 stars out of 5

A real page turner. This book should be read with "Separation of Power." "The Third Option" is the first book with "Separation of Power" as the sequel.
