Book Description:

SHE JUMPED ON THE BACK OF A BAD BOY'S HARLEY AND
FOLLOWED HIS RENEGADE DREAM....

In a single, impulsive act, Susannah Faulconer, the daughter of one of the country's most powerful industrialists, follows her heart and finds herself severed from her family and everything familiar. As a cool San Francisco socialite, she'd known exactly how to behave, but now she's a lone woman in a world of men...and there's no etiquette book in the world that can teach her how to survive.

The men are rebels, determined to take on corporate America with daring and vision, and they aren't going to let her play by good girls' rules. There's Sam, the charismatic visionary, on a rocket-driven ride to glory. And Mitch, the troubled corporate genius with no time for a rich socialite, no matter how beautiful. Together, they will force Susannah into the biggest challenge of her life as she tests her courage -- and her love -- in a bold experiment that will change them all forever.

Come share a glorious, heart-stopping love story, and meet the unforgettable woman called Hot Shot as she discovers a passion so rich, so tender, that she will be utterly and forever transformed.

Not your typical SEP book but a good read. I thought it got better as the story progressed.

If you are expecting Phillips' typical hilarious dialogue you will be disappointed. Once you get past that, the story is great. I couldn't put it down.

Not what I expected. I think this book was kind of dragging. I love her other books thought

I was disappointed in this book. The female character put up with a lot of abuse, mostly verbal and emotional, from the boyfriend and then husband that is touted to have rescued her from a sad life. Although she does throw him off, it is after a period of many years. On the plus side, the book was interesting to me as it was about a local place (Silicon Valley) and the emergence of the personal computer.

A story about early personal computer development. Good characters, and interesting plot twists.

Read it a long time ago, but remember the well written story of a MicroSoft style start up with loveable, quirky characters.

Set in Silicone Valley in the 70's, all of SEP's character development and dark backgrounds come together for true love in the idealistic generation of hackers trying to be first with a viable PC.

The story of a woman with the courage to take on the world of men. And was there ever a heroine more ill-equipped to do that than proper, well-bred Susannah Faulconer?

A book were the rich lady ends up living like the rest of us. She triumphs in the end.

Incredibly involving story. The characters are well drawn, and though is isn't a "fluffy" romance, it is quite compelling. Also a very interesting characterization of the early days of Silicon Valley.
