Book Description:
Charts of lost gold...breathtaking art and rare volumes...maps of hidden oil and mineral deposits that could change the world's balance of power. Now DIRK PITT discovers the secret trail of the treasures of Alexandria -- a trail that plunges him into a brutal conspiracy for total domination of the globe. Zealots threaten to unseat the governments of Egypt and Mexico, exposing America to invasion and economic collapse. Suddenly, from East to West, anarchists reach their deadly tentacles into the heart of the United States. And DIRK PITT, the hard-hitting hero of Clive Cussler's smash bestsellers Sahara and Inca Gold, is up against the most feared assassin known to man. An international band of terrorists is making its play for world power on the high seas -- and Pitt is the only man alive who can stop them!

Exciting read about lost treasures of Alexandria and global intrigue, typical Cussler style. I can only assume that there might be a cross-over of details with Steve Berry's newest release on a similar treasure!

I found this information inside this book. I liked it because it was so interesting and funny, that I decided to share it.

"A NOTE TO READER:
Please forgive the inconvenience of converting measurements from what most Americans are used to. But in 1991 the United States finally became the last nation on earth to convert to the metric system.
It's easy:
1 kilometer roughly equals a little more than 1/2 mile.
1 meter is slightly more than 1 yard, about 39 inches.
2 centimeters to the inch.
And there you have it."

An adventure that spans thousands of years & 4 continents. If only it were true. Nevertheless, a good story that might have happened.
