Crime writer Rule has produced another gripping compilation of true-crime stories, all set in Washington State in the 1970s. Her themes are of personal betrayal and sexual predators. The title story tells of an obsession fueled by jealousy and lust, ultimately leading to death and the ruination of many lives. After his wife left him, beloved high school coach Gabby Moore became obsessed with the wife of a former student and friend, Morris Blankenbaker. Morris's wife, Jerilee, began a relationship with Gabby that deteriorated as the alcoholic Gabby's behavior became increasingly erratic. She returned to Morris, who was soon found murdered, but Gabby, the most likely suspect, had an airtight alibi. Other stories also tell tales of obsession, lust, murder, secret lives and false identities, and sexual depravity. A welcome addition to true-crime collections; highly recommended

Excellent edition of several true crime stories written in Rule's laid-back, detailed style, includes several sets of photos. A great read for the true crime fan.

Ann Rule does so much research on a book that she knows these people better than they do.

There are six cases included in this book. With one exception (Fever In The Heart) they are all short insights into each case which Annn Rule does so well.

A Fever in the Heart probes a volatile triangle of one woman and the two men who trade roles as her lover/husband--until both are murdered, leaving a double widow and a killer. Publicity tie-in to Everything She Ever Wanted, and A Rose For Her Grave, both ABC-TV two-part miniseries. Includes two 8-page photo inserts.

Ann Rule books are always good. She gets right to the point her true crime stories. This book includes:
A Fever In The Heart
The Highway Accident
Murder Without a Body
I'll Love You Forever
Black Leather
Mirror Images
I like reading her books. Ann Rule's book usually have pictures. I like to read the stories first and then look at the pictures of the story I just read. I do this so that I can use my imagination in the decriptions she provides; then, I view the pictures.
Ann Rule is a top-notch true crime writer. She will always be one of favorite authors.

Crime Files, Volume 3 is another outstanding book by true crime writer Ann Rule.
The Main story "A Fever in the Heart" recounts an astonishing crime, proving that the truth IS stranger than fiction.
