The book starts off okay, and I settled in for a good scare. However, the author goes on and on ad-nauseum about her marital problems, her kids, her mental processes etc. and NOTHING truly scary really happens. Or if it did, I would never have known having to wade through page after page of her psychoanalyzing herself or her family. This book was a real letdown for me. Also she includes no photos in the book of the people involved, the home etc.
The book was okay, but had the author had a good editor, this book would have been better.

Despite other's good reviews, I have to say this was one of the most un-scary 'scary' books I've ever read, and I wish I would have saved my money. I didn't have much sympathy for the writer, at all.

Very interesting read, and one that I think will push people who are kind of 'on the fence' about ghosts to the believers' side. Well written and enjoyable, while also being thought-provoking. Quick read, as well.

Story of family that buys a home and finds they bought more than they bargained for. They discover they are not alone. Their fight to stay sane and get rid of these unseen entities is a gripping tale. Very scary and a must read for any lover of true accounts of the supernatural.

The true story of one family's experiences in a haunted house. A little slow in some parts but overall good enough to make you want to leave the lights on

Wow! talk about a page turner. Based on a true story. Ealine Mercado and her husband bought a house in New York adn had no idea that they were embarking on a thirteen year journey with their two girls into a household of hauntings. They experience entities holding them down in the middle of the night, floating lights on the ceilings, whisperings of their names, and more. This book is the true story of how family tried to and learned to cope with living in a haunted house.

I truly enjoyed this book. Believable story with out a lot of drama, which made it more scary for me. I couldn't put it down. Chose to read it only during the daylight hours. It is definately not a book for the person who doesn't want to know that fear/ghosts do exist.
This book will NOT be soon forgotten.

Really good book about a family who move into a house in Brooklyn,NY only to find it is haunted. A true story. I really believed Elaine Mercado's story, and am glad she chose to share her story with the world
