I loved this book!! I am an Episcopalian like Suzanne and we have a tradition of being very open to asking questions and having doubts at time about our faith. This book really complimented my journey of discovery to find out what I truly believe. I never have really thought about how much of a minority and "out of the club" other faith traditions must feel like in this country and those revelations from a Jewish and Muslim perspective were enlightening. Our book club at my church has now picked it for our church to read and I highly recommend it to help start discussions on matters of personal faith journeys.

a f.a. i was working with was reading this and said that it was excellent. i really really really wanted it to be excellent, but honestly, i was a bit disapointed with it.
the three women (jewish, muslim and episcopalian) really didn't have a firm grasp on their religions and though they knew the social aspects of their chosen religion, i think they knew very very little about their actual religion- where it came from, what the rituals means, etc. they also didn't have a firm belief in their religion and were very wishy washy.
i think its great for everyone to question their beliefs, but before you write a novel about your religion- know what you're talking about. it was interesting, and as they learned, i learned. i think it was a good easy read, but not a factual book.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was wonderful that 3 different women decided to come together to exchange ideas openly for the great purpose of educating their children. I recommend this book to anyone because you will learn something about another religion. My only complaint about the book was Suzanne's portrayal of the Catholic Church. I felt that there was no one in the book to say “hey now, wait a minute…that's not really how it is!” when she put down the Catholic faith that she fell away from. Aside from that, I thought the book was excellent!

I thought the book was well written and original. I liked how all three authors were able to communicate their differences and ask questions about eachothers faith without controversary. Definately a conversation book worth discussing.
