No Regrets and Other True Cases (Crime Files, Vol. 11) Author:Ann Rule
Book Description:
A ship's pilot legendary for guiding mammoth freighters through the narrows of Puget Sound, Rolf Neslund was a proud Norwegian, a ladies' man, and a beloved resident of Washington State's idyllic Lopez Island. Virtually indestructible even into his golden years, he made electrifying headlines more than once: after a ship he was helming crashed into the soaring West Seattle Bridge, causing millions in damages; and following his inexplicable disappearance at age 80. Was he a suicide, a man broken by one costly misstep? Had he run off with a lifelong love? Or did a trail of gruesome evidence lead to the home Rolf shared with his wife, Ruth? On an island where everyone thought they knew their neighbors, the veneer of the Neslunds' marriage masked a convoluted case that took many years to solve. And, indeed, some still believe that the old sea captain will come home one day. "The Sea Captain" is a classic tale as blood chilling as murder itself. Along with six other equally riveting, detailed accounts of destruction and murder committed without conscience or regret, Ann Rule takes readers into frightening places they never could have imagined in No Regrets.

Not Ann Rule's best effort. The main story was too long - could have easily been ... errr... chopped in half.
I didn't like that some of these didn't show dates or had assumed names of the "players" in the stories - this is supposed to true crime. For instance, I wanted to know more about one of the cases and what happened afterwards, but I couldn't because I couldn't find any information - no date, no names. This kind of defeats the purpose of true crime, in my opinion.
Anyway, it was good, just not her best and it annoyed me.

It was the usual Ann Rule book. I prefer her earlier ones.
I didn't like this one as much as her earlier ones. Some of the shorter stories seemed like they were just filler.

A pretty good entry from Ann Rule's Crime Files, though I have to agree with the comment that there were way too many assumed names and such used, even for some of the criminals. I can understand it for the innocent bystanders, but not the perpetrators. The main story is definitely the best.

I LOVE Ann Rule and buy her books without even reading the back to see what she's chosen to write about! These are some true crimes she's investigated a bit and weren't enough for a whole book, but are very interesting!

One of Ann Rule's Crime Files books, this one is Vol. 11. I am a big fan of her's and this newest endeavor gives me no reason to change my mind.

This is number 11 of Ann Rule's crime files. There are 7 stories and photos. The first and last of the stories are, in my opinion, the best.
