I couldn't get past chapter 3. The premise was great, but the writing was sluggish and dull. I am going to try the CD version. Hopefully the narrator will be able to bring this one to life.
Well told story and suspenseful. An enjoyable read!

Set in Ireland, a story of new and old mysteries. A head is found in a peat bog. American pathologist Nora Gavin and archaeologist Cormac Maguire are called to investigate.
A great read, I loved it! History, archeology, mystery all in one.
Hailed by the Book-of-the-Month-Club as "the most auspicious mystery debut of the year with a unique feeling for place and depth of forensic details that chill," HAUNTED GROUND masterfully weaves Irish folklore, traditional music, and history into a tour de force of contemporary crime fiction.
Very intriguing mystery of a modern day murder intermixed with a murder from ancient times. Describes Ireland so well you feel that you are there.
Haunted by mystery. Haunted by music. Haunted by murder. A grisly discovery is made deep in an Irish peat bog-the perfectly preserved severed head of a red-haired young woman. Has she been buried for decades, centuries or longer?
What a great read. I loved this book. Very interesting
