Book Description:
New in paperback, from the richly atmospheric series of medieval murder mysteries, in which Michael Jecks gives us tales steeped in intrigue and historical detail. Skillfully evoking the colorful, but often brutal tableau of the Middle Ages, Jecks has drawn comparison with Ellis Peters. Now former Knight Templar Sir Baldwin Furnshill and Bailiff Simon Puttock, his savvy sleuths, are on the case again in another compelling, well-crafted tale.

If you love a good who dunnit this one will keep you guessing til the end. It makes one happy to deal with the shortcomings of our 21st century legal system. Enjoy trying to decide who's guilty and how innocent are the innocent?

This is one of a series taking place in the year 1321. The keeper of the King's peace along with his friend the Bailiff, are great characters, who you feel like you know personally. Michael Jecks has a great knowledge of the history during this medieval time period.

Another good entry in this series, although I wish there was more emphasis on the two major characters.

Another good book by Michael Jecks. Reading his books, makes me very thankful I was born during the Medieval period. Like all his books, there are many twists and turns in this mystery.
