Book Description:
Beverly Lewis Does it Again!

Following such bestsellers as The Shunning and The Postcard, Beverly Lewis's explosive new novel, The Covenant, unveils the layers of deeply rooted Amish tradition as seen through the eyes of Leah and Sadie Ebersol, two courting-age sisters.

The Power of Family, the Miracle of Hope

The Amish community of Gobbler’s Knob holds everything Leah has ever desired until a pact with her older sister, lured by the outside world, leaves her clinging to God’s promises.

I enjoyed the whole series (Abram's Daughters). I've started another series of Ms. Lewis' work and I'm finding her to be consistent in her great writing.

I could no put this book down! I read the entire Abram's Daughters series in a week. This is a great story of love, lies, and the ties that bind. The series follows the life of 4 sisters from young women through their married lives. The book is written with a wonderful understanding of the Amish life. Don't miss this series. Order today--but beware, you won't be able to put it down. Order the entire series.

This book was amazing. I sat down in two or three nights and read all 300 pages. I love learning more about the Anabaptists, but to anyone this would be a great read.

I got hooked on Janette Oke books to start with and then I discovered Beverly Lewis.I read the Lancaster County Series and could not put them down. I now have read the Covenant and just ordered The Betrayal and will be watching the mail, hoping it gets here fast. I love the clean, moral stories.

This book was a little slow in the begining. It picked up in the second half of the book. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, will she discover he baby is still alive??

An intense read about a secret kept by two sisters.

Extremely easy to read. I finished it less than a day,Pretty predictable for the most part. Though I as an adult enjoyed the book as an "escape" . I would think it is appropriate for a girl between 13-15,Only one really slightly disturbing part. My only objection was that the characters kept saying "Ja Gut" to every possible happy thing from quilting to a canning bee !I found out one thing about the Amish though is boy oh boy can the keep a secret and possibly the worst family communication ever.In general though a good way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Overall this was a good book. One thing I do want to mention is it is a slow starter. I found myself a little bored at times, but the author did get me to care about the main character, Leah. I guess my one complaint would be that I didn't really care about her eldest sister until things started to pick up toward the end. As this is a book in a series, the end is a bit of a cliffhanger...so you'll get the next book! ;-)

My first book I've read by Beverly Lewis. I was hooked after reading this book, have read The Betrayal (2nd in series) and am waiting for the last 3 in this series to arrive. Very well written and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Beverly Lewis shows Gods love and the relationship with Jesus through the eyes of those who are not supposed to "know" him personally. It was very moving.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love the era the book was written in and learning about the Amish culture. This was my first Beverly Lewis book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
