A great read by a great author. Historical accounts of a time gone by bring insight into what this time period was like.

I wasn't sure if I'd like a series taken place back during the gold rush days, but I found this book to be very well written. I love how it ministers to your heart through the characters. If you haven't read this, get all three of them because you won't want to stop once you read the first one.

this book was not bad. Though I wouldn't call it wonderful either.
At times the writing was very simplistic and formulaic. It also has heavy religious overtones. And it was rather unbelievable at times in the story.
Still it was interesting and the description of the places were very interesting. Quick read. I wouldn't say it's worth buying new but as a swap book it was fine :)
