Book Description:
Book 1 of SHENANDOAH SISTERS. Two young Southern girls, one the daughter of a plantation owner and one the daughter of a slave, barely survive the onset of the Civil War and the loss of both their families. Terrific writting by Michael Phillips... This was a quick read... I have already started into the second of the series... Two young girls from different world come together after the civil war... Both of their families have been killed... they learn to take care of eachother become best of friends, a trust in God to bring them through many challenges...dg

I really enjoyed this story. This point of view is through the childs eyes; its their story of what happened back during the civil war times. It was facinating and gripping. These were VERY BRAVE girls in very difficult times. They band together and learn how to trust God for their needs and protection.

Pat N. (If you like to read about the Civil War period of time, this book (and the series) is for you. It follows a young orphaned girl and one of the slave girls as they try to cope with what is happening around them. I loved the storyline and the historical nuggets seeded throughout.
Two girls from two different worlds Can they survive in a world suddenly turned upside down? A story as full of emotion and drama as the characters themselves.
