Pretty riveting for the first 2/3's....the last part (about how he came to the circumstances which led him to prison) is pretty dull.

I really liked this, but then again, I loved HBO's "Oz". Lerner writes with humor and empathy--you know he's a slime-ball, but you want to like him anyway. I really hope that his accounting of the circumstances that led to his incarceration are accurate, since there were no witnesses... Is he a victim or a lying con??? If anyone reads this, I'd love to know what you think.

Wow. I sure learned stuff I really didn't want to know. This book was an eye opener to what goes on in prisons. Once I got used to the "prison talk" I was hooked. This is one of those nice guys who was pushed to his limit by a psychotic neighbor and lost control. He doesn't tell you what actually happened until almost the end of the book. This is his story of how he survived his prison experience in spite of all the crap that was going on all around him. I truly enjoyed reading the book. It was very well written and held my interest the whole time I was reading it.

Riveting account of prison with plenty of sarcastic wit. Jimmy Lerner used more brain than brawn to get by in prison, and he did it well. Fascinating.
