Good book. John "Rocket" is a great hero-ex-Marine who is now a P.I. Tori is an interesting heroine. Her father is killed and her younger teenage brother is the suspect. She comes home to prove he didn't do it. Good secondary characters. A great who done it. The killer is unexpected.

Wealthy architect Tori Hamilton hires a PI from Semper Fi Investigations to locate and exonerate her brother Jared who disappeared after their father was fatally stabbed. When she meets John the PI, it turns out he's the man she had a sex-filled weekend with in Florida six years earlier, resulting in the birth of her precocious daughter Esme. Estranged from her controlling and abusive wealthy father, she chose to raise her daughter in England, and is only returning to the US because of Jared.
Once the cat is out of the bag, John must come to terms with fatherhood, the reemergence of his feelings for Tori (as well as their differing yet similar backgrounds when it comes to fathers), and his commitment to finding her brother. Once the two decide to rekindle the romance, they literally burn up the pages (and the readers finally find out how John got the nickname "rocket").
Andersen can always be counted on to tell a sensual and engaging story, with great secondary storylines, in this case, pampered Jared's experience of living on the streets. It's a good conclusion to the "marine" series (and provides redemption for the dismal "Getting Lucky").

A weeklong, no-last-names romance in Pensacola leaves John Miglionni with the determination to take a hard look at his life, and high-society architect Victoria Hamilton with memories of hot loving and a very real pregnancy. Now, six years later, when Victoria's younger brother, Jared, disappears the night their father is fatally stabbed, Victoria hires a detective from Semper Fi Investigations to track down Jared and prove his innocence—only to discover the PI is her long-ago lover, John. Surprise daddyhood, concern for Jared and an awareness of their disparate backgrounds delay the sexual sparks between John and Victoria, but once the fire starts, there's no putting it out. Still, John and Victoria have to work through their issues of mistrust and uncover who really killed Victoria's father before they can have a future together. John's worries about his ability to be a good father and several likable, well-developed secondary characters add depth to this zesty novel, placing it a level beyond most of its competition.

I absolutely loved this book. It is the final book in a trilogy about three friends, and they are all wonderful books. The hero and heroine sizzle together, the romance is heartfelt, and the secondary storyline with PJ and Jared added another layer to the story.

When Victoria Hamilton's "no strings, no last names" vacation fling with "Rocket" results in a baby, she knew she had to begin a new life away from her corrupting family. After her father is murdered and her half brother Jared is the prime suspect; Victoria is willing to do anything to prove his innocence.......Coming face to face with her past in the form of John "Rocket" Miglionni, her new private investigator sure isn't what she had in mind.

Victoria has a no strings fling that results in a beautiful baby which leads her to a life far from her criminal father and neglected brother. Now, her father is murdered, her brother is the main suspect and her new private investigator turns out to be her daughter's daddy. John is a former marine with a troubled past and a bad attitude and no experience with family. Now his future family happiness all depends on his ability to solve this murder, be a role model to a messed up teen, and make a little angel fall in love with her daddy. Susan Anderson is a sure thing when it comes to a good romance with an intelligent plot and great characters.
